designing with the topshop consumer in mind, this brief combines two ss18 trends including plaid denim and tailored denim, to create a new perspective with a traditional fabric and staple garment 

influenced by a variety of sources, including the british library's flickr comms online collection, this brief uses various pleating techniques to create beautiful drapes and silhouettes encouraged by the work of teatum jones

inspired by the rich history of manchester's cotton industry and by the hard working women behind the machines, this unit uses various garment making techniques to create contemporary outfits with classic workwear and menswear tailoring detail 

dissertation

a link to my dissertation written about the link between historic womenswear and the emancipation of women in the 20th century with a focus on designers Gabrielle Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli and 20th century corsetry. designed in the style of an exhibition catalogue
